I don’t event know where to start this post. I can just say it has been one of the best weekends of my life…
I arrived late in Madrid on Friday night and went straight away to sleep because I needed to be fresh for the next day. A CrossFit session with Dan Bailey, the Meridional Regional games in la Caja Magica and the fun paleo cooking workshop were waiting for me on Saturday (I will tell you more about everything in another post).
I could hardly get any sleep that night because I was incredibly nervous. I had dreamed for months about running the Spartan Race, but I couldn’t make it due to the injure in my arm and knee.
The race met all my expectations and more. It was super well organized, there were volunteers everywhere, there was even a tent with physiotherapists, a Reebok shop, cafeteria…
The Reebok team was simply outstanding. They ran together with us to make sure we made the best out of the experience. They were so caring, they even took our clothes full of mud to clean and made sure we got them back in our rooms hours later.
But the best thing about the whole experience was the feelings you experiment.
There is a Spartan motto that prays: “Those who don’t have muscles, they better have friends”. (Lucky me that I have both 😜)
Spartan philosophy is all about team work, empowering each other and getting ‘through hell’ together. I couldnt have made it without the whole team by my side. Whenever I couldnt overcome an obstacle, a friend shared the burpees penalty with me, or he put me on his shoulders to jump walls and pushed me when I was feeling weak.
I was so lucky that I also had my family there! My mum drove more than 500km to see me run my first #SpartanRace . She knows how hard I have been training, how focused I am on improving my fitness skills and how passionate I am about becoming a better human. To see the proud in her eyes and hear her cheering me up through the obstacles made me realize how blessed I am. Behind my success are friends, family and the amazing Reebok team who always believed in me.
I can hardly wait to run my next race. Until then, I will concentrate in gaining more strength in my upper body and trying to run more outdoor, let us not forget that…the gym is everywhere.
THANK YOU TO THE AMAZING REEBOK TEAM FOR THIS INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!
